Probably the spiciest Indian reality show, Bigg Boss, has finally started. Apparently, this is the most talked about show where the contestants are judged for almost everything they do. It’s the magic of the show’s concept that has managed to keep its loyal fans engaged despite running for the last 15 years with similar elements of entertainment. Same is the case with this 15th season as well. Here the fans can’t wait till the weekend to know who is going to be eliminated.

A staunch Bigg Boss watcher gets it from the first day itself, or even before, about which Bigg Boss contestant is going to last till the finale.  And, Afsana Khan is one such promising contender for the 15th season of Bigg Boss.

Afsana Khan: Where talent meets popularity

Afsana Khan has the characteristics to be the subject of discussions and rumor mills of the viewers. The best thing about her is that she is a true entertainer, which is the foremost characteristic that both the makers and the viewers expect from a contestant. She ticks all the boxes to be a deserving and promising contender for Bigg Boss 15, be it about the talent, controversy, or glamour.

Afsana has participated in 3rd season of the Voice of Punjab. However, it’s the Dhakka controversy that she is known the most for. In fact, this famous ‘Titlian Warga’ star is currently one of the most popular singers in Punjabi music industry, thus rubbishing the claims that Big Boss only invites outdated, jobless contenders.

Those uninitiated, ‘Titlian Warga’ sung by Afsana Khan, featuring Hardy Sandhu and Sargun Mehta has already crossed 710 million views. She has a whopping 1.3 million plus followers on Instagram. With such a huge bank of fans and followers, Afsana certainly has enough in her kitty to claim the finale spot, at least.   It’s not just Titlian Warga though; songs like Chandigarh Shehr, Kadar, Nakhre Jatti De, etc make her a household name in Punjabi music industry.

Afsana Khan: A peek into the ‘Dhakka’ controversy

You can’t survive inside the Big Boss house with mere talent. More than talent, controversy is the biggest qualification parameter that one needs to possess to be the best-fit inside Big Boss house. In this context, Afsana perfectly fits the bill as her biggest hit is the most controversial as well. Yes, you guessed it right; we are talking about the Dhakka song here. Actually, Afsana sung it while on a visit to her school, the video of which went viral. Later she had to deal with a complaint filed allegedly for propagating gun culture in the school for this song.

With a badass girl personality, it will not be surprising if you see nothing hundreds of Afsana Khan fan page on various social media platform or to see her on the finale stag.

Mallika Sherawat ‘attacked with tear gas and beaten’ in Paris https://glint.tv/slider-videos/mallika-sherawat-attacked-with-tear-gas-and-beaten-in-paris/ Thu, 17 Nov 2016 18:33:34 +0000 https://glint.tv/?p=5698

Indian actress Mallika Sherawat was attacked with tear gas, beaten and robbed by three masked intruders outside her Paris apartment block, a report here said. A criminal investigation has been launched.

The police revealed on Thursday about the incident, which happened on the night of November 11 — just a month after reality TV star Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint here, reports dailymail.co.uk.

The 40-year-old and a male partner — French businessman Cyrille Auxenfans — were attacked with tear gas and punched. The alleged assault took place when the two arrived at her residential building in the 16th arrondissement of the French capital.

According to Le Parisien newspaper, the criminals wore scarves across their faces and “without saying a word, sprayed their victims with tear gas before punching them”.

They then fled, leaving a shocked Mallika and her friend to call the emergency services.

A criminal investigation has been launched, with detectives working on the assumption that this was an attempted robbery.

If one goes by Mallika’s official Twitter page, just a day after the incident, she was in Geneva, which she described as “one of my favourite places”.

‘Hrithik-Kangana legal tussle isn’t over yet’ https://glint.tv/slider-videos/hrithik-kangana-legal-tussle-isnt-over-yet/ Thu, 17 Nov 2016 17:53:10 +0000 https://glint.tv/?p=5693

The legal battle between actors Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut following their public spat over whether the two were in a relationship in the past isn’t over yet, said Hrithik’s legal team on Thursday.

“Media reports which suggest that the investigation into the Hrithik-Kangana emails is closed are totally false. A section of the media in connivance with Ms. Ranaut’s lawyer has sought to disseminate this false information,” Hrithik’s lawyers said in a statement.
“The investigation, in fact, continues and Mr. Saxena (Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime) has informed Mr. Mahesh Jethmalani, Senior Counsel advising Mr. Roshan, that ‘the case is not yet closed. Investigation is still going on’,” the statement added.

The affirmation came after certain media reports on Thursday claimed that the legal dispute between the two has come to an end. The reports said that the case is being closed as the Mumbai Police have not been able to find who was impersonating actor Hrithik Roshan to send regular emails to Kangana Ranaut.

“It is categorically asserted that there is unimpeachable evidence to suggest that there was no relationship of any kind between Mr. Roshan and Ms. Ranaut and that Ms. Ranaut persistently hounded Mr. Roshan on e-mails with the intention to entice him into a relationship,” claimed the statement.

A public spat broke out between the two former co-stars when Kangana in an interview hinted at Hrithik being her “ex”, to which Hrithik responded by tweeting that “there are more chances of me having had an affair with the Pope” than with Kangana. Soon both exchanged legal notices.

The two were first linked in 2013 when they came together in “Krrish 3” but the rumour gained momentum after the actor officially separated from his wife Sussanne in December 2013.

Actress Kajol, who believes in a regular skin care regime, says it took some time for her to believe that she is beautiful.

“I believe it is wise to take up a regular skin care regimen in your twenties, so as to maintain youthful skin in your thirties,” Kajol said at the launch of a new Olay Total Effects lightweight moisturiser here on Wednesday.

Talking about her long-standing association with the brand, she said: “My trust in Olay remains unchanged through the years just like my skin despite the many changes in my life.”

“A lot of things have changed over the years, but now I believe that I am beautiful. It took me a long time to believe that. So my beliefs about myself have changed, and I think I am a better person today. I have grown, hopefully,” she added.

Kajol said she drinks a lot of water to keep her skin hyderated.

“There aren’t any beauty secrets when family is concerned. We are just genetically beautiful. One thing I tell this to everyone is be absolutely clean and neat, drink lots of water and wash your face three times a day,” said the mother of two, who wants to be a mirror image of her mother Tanuja when she is her age.

“For me, my inspiration has been my mother. I would like to look like her when I am her age. She doesn’t look one bit her age. I feel teenagers are beautiful, but women are just stunning.

“Teenagers are pretty and cute and they would like that term. They like to describe themselves like that. As people grow older, whatever is inside them comes out, and that is true beauty,” she added.

Online games not as addictive as gambling: Study https://glint.tv/slider-videos/online-games-not-addictive-gambling-study/ Sat, 05 Nov 2016 17:45:42 +0000 https://glint.tv/?p=5318

You can successfully quit out of your favourite online game with much ease as playing internet games has been found not as addictive as gambling, new research has suggested.

The study is the first to measure the scale of gaming addiction in the general population using symptoms of ‘internet gaming disorder’, which included preoccupation with internet gaming, anxiety and other withdrawal symptoms (if the game was taken away), increasing amounts of time spent gaming, loss of control, reduced interests, social withdrawal, and losing opportunities as a result of gaming.

The findings showed that while many gamers may feel preoccupied and distracted from other responsibilities in a way akin to a sports fan whose team has reached the finals, they are not likely to have a pathological condition unless there are feelings of significant distress.

“Internet games are currently one of the most popular leisure activities but we can’t leap to conclusions and assume that if 160 million people play them, one million of them might be addicted,” said lead author Andrew Przybylski, from the University of Oxford.

“Contrary to what was predicted, the study did not find a clear link between potential addiction and negative effects on health,” Przybylski added.

For the study, researchers from the University of Oxford surveyed 19,000 men and women from the UK, the US, Canada and Germany.

Over half of the sample said they had played internet games recently. Of these, between 2 per cent and 3 per cent reported they had experienced five or more of the symptoms on the list, with between 1 per cent and 0.5 per cent saying they also had feelings of ‘significant distress’ in being unable to curb their play.

Specific indicators like increasing playtime to increase excitement were reported three times more frequently than other indicators, such as risking social relationships, the researchers observed.

However, the great majority of gamers — nearly three in four — reported no symptoms at all that we would link with addictive gaming behaviour, Przybylski said.

These rates are less than half those reported recently for gambling by the British Gambling Prevalence Survey, the researchers noted in the paper published in the American Journal of Psychiatry.
