Anushka Sharma slams Indian media; asks to become mature

Being under media surveillance is no new thing for celebs. Right from who-dating-who to break-ups and patch-ups everything is been covered by the media. Anushka Sharma’s case is not different, as the media has always taken a keen interest in her love life.

Anushka has been dating Indian Test captain Virat Kohli. The couple reportedly split following a rift in their relationship, but the speculation soon ended after the duo spotted together again.

The PK actress, however, remained tight-lipped about her relationship with Kohli. Anuskha, in a recent interview, revealed why she didn’t bother to talk about her personal life in public.

“I don’t want to talk about my personal life,” Anushka said. “I feel the Indian media doesn’t have the maturity to deal with it. They can’t understand when we are open about our relationships.”

“I was open about my relationship,” she added. “I spoke about it and I thought that would be respected, but it’s not. People don’t know what to do with it.”

Anushka pointed out that when she was seeing Kohli, the media was completely focused on her personal life, rather than the hardwork she was putting in professionally.

“Here, everything is to be gossiped about – every little thing is being focused on and analysed? The focus is completely taken away from my work,” Anushka pointed out.

“While I was in this relationship, I was doing the best work of my life,” she said. “I was getting appreciation for the films I was doing then, but suddenly, it’s only about my relationship!”
