Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer Sultan has left everyone awestruck, as the movie has crossed 500 crore-mark internationally. The movie has now become the fifth highest grossing film, after Dhoom 3, Baahubali, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and PK.
Sultan is likely to beat Dhoom 3, and give stiff competition to Baahubali and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, but it is unlikely to beat Aamir Khanโs PK, which grossed Rs 792 crore at the box office. The Salman-starrer joined the 100 crore club within three days of its release, and has been riding high ever since.
After the fantastic opening in the first week, the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial venture, has earned 267.31 crore from India, while the rest have come from overseas collections. Even the controversy surrounding Salmanโs inappropriate remarks just before the release didnโt affect the movie.
Meanwhile, Salman is now preparing for his movie Tubelight, which is likely to his the big screens on Eid, next year. The movie will be directed by Kabir Khan, with the 1962 Sino-Indian war being the center of the story. The shooting is currently on hold because of recent unrest in the Kashmir Valley.
The leading lady in the movie is yet to be named. According to reports, Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone have been approached for the role.
