Bigg Boss 1:

Bigg Boss 1 hosted by Arshad Warsi got decent TRPs. Its opening episode managed to get 2.36 and the finale got 2.87. The average rating of the show was 2.72. But in hindsight the first season was the least popular season in terms of TRP.

Bigg Boss 2:

The second season hosted by Shilpa Shetty witnessed a better TRP as its opening episode got 2.42 rating and finale got 3.02 rating points. Average rating of the season was 2.89.

Bigg Boss 3:

Bigg Boss 3 hosted by Amitabh Bachchan got a TRP rating of only 1.96 in its opening episode, and the finale got 3.06. The average rating for the season was 2.83.

Bigg Boss 4 :

The Bigg Boss-Salman saga started from the 4th season onwards. Opening episode of Big Boss 4 got TRP of 3.60, and the finale broke all records earning TRP of 6.70. The average rating for the season was 5.15.

Bigg Boss 5:

Opening episode of Bigg Boss 5 had got 4.30 TRP, whereas the average TRP for the entire season was 4.19.

Bigg Boss 6 :

Opening episode of Bigg Boss 6 had got 3.21 TRP, and the finale had got 4.24. Overall, its average rating remained at 3.81. 

Bigg Boss 7 :

Bigg Boss 7’s opening episode had TRP of 3.85, and the finale had TRP of 4.80. Average rating for the show was 4.40.

Bigg Boss 8 :

The launch episode of Bigg Boss 8 got TRP of 3.80, but the finale hosted by Farah Khan barely managed  TRP of  2.82. Average rating of the season was 3.30.

Bigg Boss 9:

Opening episode of Bigg Boss 9 hosted by Salman had got 3.18 TRP while the finale had a 2.97 rating. Average rating of the show was only 2.90.

Bigg Boss 10:

Bigg Boss 10 , with commoners inside the house had 3.82 opening episode rating and 4.02 finale rating. Its average rating was 3.54.

Bigg Boss 11:

Opening episode of Big Boss 11 broke all records with a TRP rating of 6.35. Finale was even more significant at 8.93 TRP. Average TRP of the show was 6.99.

Bigg Boss 12:

There is no reliable record for the opening and finale episode of Bigg Boss 12. Its average TRP was said to be less than 3.

Bigg Boss 13:

Bigg Boss 13 was the most successful Bigg Boss season, and above all, the most successful reality show in the history of Indian television. Its opening and finale TRP were above 8, and the average rating was above 6.

Bigg Boss 14:

There is no reliable information about the opening and finale episode of Bigg Boss 14. However, its average TRP was just more than 3.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan  due to some health issues had wrap up ” Kaun Banega Crorepati 9″ shooting and has thanked its team and audience for making it another historic event in the history of the show.

This show is No. 1 in its rankings and has brought the channel Sony to No. 1 position. “KBC” draws to an end. Amitabh Bachchan at the age of 75 had made his small screen foray in the year 2000 with “Kaun Banega Crorepati”, a general knowledge-based game show based on the “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” 

 It’s been 44 years since the release of megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s film “Abhimaan”, but the actor says he is still unknown about who holds the rights for the movie.

Directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, “Abhimaan”, which featured Amitabh alongside his wife Jaya Bachchan, revolved around a popular singer, who encourages his wife to sing, but marital discord sets in when her popularity surpasses his and jealousy rages.

“And we have 44 years of the film that brought Jaya and me together for a most memorable creative in our respective careers… The excellence of Hrishi Da, the music of S.D. Burman, the master and the support of some of the most brilliant talent in its writing,” Amitabh wrote on his blog.

“Amiya — the production name was our production. Ami from Amitabh and Ya from Jaya and our respective secretaries were looking after the nitty gritties while we worked.

“But as is with most such productions, things went out of hand and we ended up with nothing. The rights all still belong to ‘dunno w’o’, perhaps one of the secretaries,” he added. 

The film is popularly known for its songs like “Teri bindiya re”, “Nadiya kinare”, “Piya bina piya bina” and “Tere mere milan ki yeh raina”.

Amitabh says the songs from the film still “remains haunting and a dream for many”.

“There are many inputs for the film but some other day shall go into the finer points of the thinking that went behind in Hrishi ‘a’s mind,” he added. 

Amitabh also took to Twitter and wrote: “‘Abhimaan’ 44 years! So many memories linked to this and the music… Simply the very best ever! still”. 

Filmmaker Karan Johar wrote to Amitabh says that “Abhimaan” is one of his favourite films.

“One of my favourite films Amit uncle…I cry every time I see it…The most memorable music and performances,” Karan tweeted.

 Actors Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone, apart from directors like Mrinal Sen, Buddhadeb Dasgupta and Goutam Ghose are among the Indians invited to be a part of the Oscar Academy’s ‘Class of 2017’.

The announcement was made on Wednesday.

“We’re proud to invite our newest class to the Academy. The entire motion picture community is what we make of it,” Cheryl Boone Isaacs, President of the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences, was quoted as saying on the official Oscar website.

“It’s up to all of us to ensure that new faces and voices are seen and heard, and to take a shot on the next generation the way someone took a shot on each of us,” Isaacs added.

There are 774 new members from 57 countries — a record-breaking number.

The Oscar Academy has noted not just a 359 per cent increase in women invited to join the Academy from 2015-2017, but also a marked rise in people of colour invited — signifying the diversity it was embracing.

From India, there are also actors Irrfan Khan and Salman Khan, Indian costume designer Arjun Bhasin, directors and writers like Anand Patwardhan and Sooni Taraporevala.

Even India-born Mohit Kallianpur and Mahesh Ramasubramanian, who have worked in animation and visual effects of Hollywood films like “Frozen” and “Shrek” respectively, are a part of the exhaustive list.

Among other international high-profile actors newly invited to the Academy are “Wonder Woman” star Gal Gadot, “Moonlight” Oscar nominee Naomie Harris, Donald Glover, Chris Hemsworth, Riz Ahmed, Adam Driver, Dwayne Johnson, Leslie Jones, Betty White, Amy Poehler, Chris Pratt, Anna Faris, Margot Robbie, Channing Tatum, Kristen Stewart, Shailene Woodley, Ruth Negga, and Rupert Grint.

Directors include Barry Jenkins, Jordan Peele, David Ayer, Theodore Melfi and the Russo brothers.

The new members invited are part of seven branches — actors, casting directors, costume designers, designers, documentary, executives and film editors.

The Congress’ Mumbai unit on Wednesday asked megastar Amitabh Bachchan to refrain from acting as the Brand Ambassador for the upcoming Goods & Services Tax (GST) being rolled out from July 1.

“Both Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) and Finance Minister (Arun Jaitley) know that the government is not ready nor does it have the infrastructure to roll out GST. That’s why it is using a legend like Amitabh Bachchan so that he becomes the fall guy and has to face the brickbats,” Mumbai Congress President Sanjay Nirupam said in a statement.

Nirupam noted that he had the utmost respect for the superstar and hence “wanted to caution him” against being used by government on the issue of GST.

“The idea was ‘One Country, One Tax,’ but what is being rolled out is one country and at least four taxes. Why are Indians being fooled? And why use an icon and his credibility to fool them?” he asked demanded.

According to some reports, the megastar has responded on social media, saying he was asked to do it and so he did it.

Amitabh appears in a 40-second video released by the government on GST where he explains the various benefits of the new tax regime coming up next month.

Besides GST, the Bollywood legend is the Brand Ambassador for various other government initiatives like Swachch Bharat Abhiyan’s latest campaign, ‘Darwaza Band’ (Door Shut), and also for Gujarat Tourism.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who has featured in a song “Phir se” by Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, says he did the song not because she is the wife of an influential person, but because she is a woman trying to develop herself independently.

“I agreed to be a part of this song not because she is a wife of Maharashtra chief minister. I liked the fact that she wants to develop her skill and art as an independent woman, which is just amazing. And above all, it was difficult to say no to a woman,” Amitabh said.

Amitabh launched the new single and its music video in Mumbai.

“She should get equal marks for her singing and performance in the song and I wish her all the luck for her future journey in this field,” Big B added.

Talking about working with Amitabh Bachchan, Amruta said: “I hadn’t thought I will be working with him. When I heard the song for the first time, I could only imagine him as a head of that music academy in song and when we approached him for it, he was kind enough to be part of the song and that is our privilege.”

The logo of the much awaited film “Thugs Of Hindostan” is finally out. 

With this film Yash Raj Films (YRF) has managed a casting coup with megastar Amitabh Bachchan and superstar Aamir Khan. Fireworks are likely at the box office.

YRF is bringing the two stars together on the big screen for the first time.

“Thugs of Hindostan” is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and stars Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh along with Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.

Now that the logo is out it seems that the makers of the much-publicised movie have taken inspiration from the hugely popular fantasy series “Game of Thrones” for it.

One can’t overlook the stark resemblance between the font of the film’s logo to that of the show.
At the moment, Aamir is prepping for a ‘big action sequence’ for the movie. The Yash Raj Films’ project promises to have action at sea and a dose of history.

The film will go on the floors on June 5 on specially-built ships. The shooting will begin aboard two massive specially-constructed ships — built over two months — that are currently docked in a Maltese sea port.

The film is set for a Diwali 2018 release.
