We all know why Kattapa killed Baahubali, but Varun Dhawan still seems to be in awe of the iconic moment as her recreated it with “Baahubali” star Prabhas.

Varun on Tuesday shared a photograph of himself along with the “Baahubali: The Conclusion” star. In the image it can be seen that the “Main Tera Hero” actor is seen doing the iconic pose, where Katappa kills Baahubali in the first instalment of S.S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus.

“‘Baahubali’. (I) did only what Katappa did before this. Prabhas is really cool and down to earth, more power to him but i have got his sword now,” Varun captioned the image.

“Baahubali 2: The Conclusion”, is a 2017 Indian historical fiction film. It is the continuation of “Baahubali: The Beginning”. It was originally made in Telugu and Tamil and dubbed into Hindi, Malayalam, German, French, Japanese and English.

The film also stars Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati and Sathyaraj in lead roles.

A picture of “Baahubali” fame Prabhas in his clean shaven avatar has taken the internet by storm. Fans believe this could be his look for his upcoming Telugu actioner “Saaho”.

The picture, apparently clicked on a flight, features a Prabhas sporting shades, wearing a cap, and clean shaven.

There are thousands of tweets on this look being Prabhas’s avatar from “Saaho”.

The 37-year-old is back from his month-long US holiday.

The principal shooting of “Saaho”, which will also be made in Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam, is expected to commence from next month.

To be directed by Sujeeth, “Saaho” is rumoured to being made on a budget of over Rs. 100 crore.

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have been roped in to compose music, while Sabu Cyril will take care of production design.

Actor Prabhas is “truly overwhelmed” and wants to give a “big hug” to “Baahubali” fans for showering him with love.

Prabhas, who dedicated five years to the film franchise, posted a thank you note to his admirers on his Facebook page on Sunday.

He wrote: “To all my fans, a big hug to each one of you for all the love you all have showered on me. I have tried my best to go through a lot of the efforts you all have put to express your affection for me from different parts of India and even overseas. I am truly overwhelmed.

“The journey of ‘Baahubali’ has been a long one but among the few things that I will take away from this, is all of you. Lot’s of love back to you all.”

He even thanked the film’s director S.S. Rajamouli for “believing in me to carry his huge vision to the masses, giving me a once-in-a-lifetime character of Baahubali and making the entire journey so special”.

Meanwhile, filmmaker Karan Johar, the distributor of Rajamouli’s “Baahubali 2: The Conclusion” in Hindi, tweeted on Sunday: “The biggest milestone has been reached by the biggest blockbuster of Indian cinema! Rs 1,000 crore ‘Baahubali’.”

Why did Kattapa kill Baahubali? This perennial question that haunted those who have seen “Baahubali: The Beginning” will now be rested. Director S.S. Rajamouli does answer this question and offers much more in “Baahubali 2: The Conclusion”, which is an action-packed revenge drama.

For the uninitiated, Baahubali is the story of an orphan prince Amarendra Baahubali and his son Mahendra Baahubali in the Kingdom of Maheshmati. While the first edition concentrated on Amarendra being unaware of his identity, the Conclusion takes off from where the first part ended and delves deeper into the life of Amarendra Baahubali, the father of Mahendra Baahubali the child who was dramatically saved in the opening shots of the earlier film.

Narrated in a melodramatic manner with surreal action sequences and epic battle scenes along with plenty of dilemmas and betrayals, it is Amarendra’s tale that is interestingly gripping as it answers the question of why Kattapa killed Baahubali.

The final act of The Conclusion, which concentrates on Mahendra’s story seems like a rushed job. And with a run time of 167 minutes, the film eventually seems to drag.

On the performance front, with dramatic lines and over-the-top acts, every actor performs his part earnestly. With an imposing, yet tender personality, Sathyaraj as Kattapa, the loyal warrior, is impressive. Prabhas Raju in a dual role is charming as Amarendra and sincere as Mahendra Baahubali.

Rana Daggubati excels as the vicious Bhalladeva. But it is Nassar as the scheming Bijjala Deva, father of Bhalladeva, who steals the thunder from Rana.

Ramya Krishnan as the Rajmata Sivagami along with Anushka Shetty as Devasena — Amarendra’s wife — offer a stimulating performance. Tamannaah Bhatia as Avantika, Mahendra’s love interest, in a miniscule role has nothing much to offer.

On the technical front, like its prequel, this film too is at par with any big ticket Hollywood caper, in terms of its mounting. Visually the film is colossal and monumentally spectacular. In fact, it is a bit better than the previous edition in terms of VFX effects and sharper edits. The action sequences too are artistically and aesthetically choreographed. The music and background score by MM Kreem add to the cinematic experience.

Unfortunately the dubbing in Hindi is not up to the mark.

Overall, this concluding part of Baahubali will appeal to you, irrespective of whether you have seen The Beginning.

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia says the most unexpected thing of her decade-long career so far has been being part of S.S Rajamouli’s magnum opus “Baahubali: The Beginning”.

“It came to me when I was going through the lowest lows of my career. After a series of failures, to be part of a project like ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ is dream-like, and it’s easily the most unexpected thing of my career,”.

In the first part of “Baahubali”, she played a rebellious warrior, Avantika. She says she has an even better role in the second installment of the franchise.

“It’s a really good role. We still have some minor portion to shoot which will be wrapped up in December,” she said, adding she’d do anything to be part of such a proud project.

“I would die and even kill if required to be part of ‘Baahubali’,” she quipped.

Tamannaah, who has had three back-to-back hits in 2016, is gearing up to reprise Kangana Ranaut’s role in the yet-untitled Tamil remake of “Queen”.

Will Rajinikanth’s Kabali manage to 500 crore mark at the box office, and become even a bigger hit than Baahubali? According to Kalaipuli S Thanu, producer of the movie, Rajinikanth’s stature and fan following will help the film in shattering records at the box office.

Kabali, one of the most anticipated movies of Rajinikanth, is hitting the silver screens on July 22. The movie, also featuring Winston Chao and Rosyom Nor, is releasing in more than 5,000 screens worldwide, and also be dubbed in foreign languages, like Chinese, Thai and Japanese.

According to an estimate, Kabali has already racked up 200 crore even before releasing, through branding, theatrical distribution, digital sales and other rights. Thanu, meanwhile, is expecting it to cross the 500 crore mark on its release.

“I expect the movie to make more than Rs 500 crore when it releases,” Thanu said. “It will be bigger than Baahubali because that is the power and stature of Rajinikanth. He has fans all over the world, across all age groups. But I have still not sold the satellite rights, I’m waiting for the film to release.”

Thanu said that both Rajinikanth and his daughter Soundarya liked the movie when he showed it to them. He added that this movie will be the ‘crowning glory’ in already illustrious career of Rajinikanth. “After watching the film, he told me how happy he was,” Thanu said.
