The trailer of the film ‘Lucknow Central’ has been released and it’s intriguing. It is set against the backdrop of a jail, where Farhan plays the role of a prisoner, aspiring to be a singer.

Kishen Mohan Girhotra is a young man who belongs to Moradabad, a city in Uttar Pradesh. One fateful day, Kishen gets accused of murder which lands him in Lucknow Central Jail where he’s awaiting his High Court trial for a death penalty. Meanwhile, a diligent NGO worker Gayatri Kashyap, is compelled to form a Band of Prisoners for the band competition which is to be held in the dreaded jail of ‘Lucknow Central’ that year and this is how Kishen’s and her paths cross.

Kishen befriends 4 other inmates, Dikkat Ansari, Victor Chattopahdyay, Purushottam Pandit, Parminder Trehan and convinces them to join the band.

The dramatic narrative of Lucknow Central portrays how Kishen’s life progresses in jail and how music becomes an intricate part of not only his journey, but the rest of the band’s as well.

Produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, Nikkhil Advani, Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani. Lucknow Central stars Farhan Akhtar, Diana Penty, Gippy Grewal, Ronit Roy, Deepak Dobriyal, InaamUlHaq & Rajesh Sharma.

The film is set to release on 15th September, 2017.

After portraying a simple Meera in “Cocktail” and a fun Happy in “Happy Bhaag Jayegi”, actress Diana Penty is now excited to play a military officer in the upcoming film “Parmanu – The Story Of Pokhran”.

Diana took to Twitter on July 9 to share her first look, where she is seen donning a military uniform. Her hair is pulled back to a bun and she is sporting minimal make-up. 

“Excited to share my first look in ‘Parmanu’!” she captioned the image.

Last month, actor-producer John Abraham shared the first look of “Parmanu – The Story Of Pokhran”, where the map of Pokhran is shown with John’s face watermarked behind the poster.

The film is based on the historic nuclear tests which were conducted in 1998 in Pokhran, Rajasthan. The tests are marked as the most iconic incident after Independence. The film will throw light on how it all happened. 

“Parmanu – The Story Of Pokhran”, which also stars Boman Irani in a pivotal role, is slated to release on December 8.

The sudden interest in her personal as well as professional life after the success of “Cocktail” came as a surprise to actress Diana Penty, who says it took her a while to get used to constant public scrutiny.

The actress, who was seen on the silver screen in “Happy Bhag Jayegi” after a gap of four years, said now she has reached a level where she is comfortable to be under the spotlight.

“It took me a while after ‘Cocktail’… I was not expecting and was not prepared for it. So it took me a while. But now I think I have reached a stage where I am comfortable in this space. I know how to handle it,” Diana told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

After her modelling stint, Diana ventured into Bollywood with “Cocktail” – which also featured Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone – in 2012. But she maintained her distance from the big screen after her the blockbuster debut.

She said she understands that there will always be things which will affect here. So, she has learnt to take it all with a pinch of salt.

“There is always going to be one part of where you will get affected and that is only normal and natural… Being a human, you are going to be sensitive to certain things. But you need to learn how to draw the line and say ‘Yes, it will bother me, but I have to snap out of it’,” she said.

After the success of “Happy Bhag Jayegi”, Diana is going through several scripts, and said it will not take another four years for her to be back on the silver screen.

The makers of ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’ launched their trailer amidst the famous laugh rioters of the The Kapil Sharma Show. The funny and quirky trailer launch was attended by the movie’s entire star cast Abhay Deol, Diana Penty, Ali Fazal Piyush Mishra, Kanwaljit Singh and Momal Sheik.

The special promotional event shoot had the entire talented cast of Kapil Sharma along with Sunil Grover and Kiku Sharda in attendance. The trailer of the movie was also launched during the shoot. The film has been widely shot in Punjab and is set to be released on 19th. Happy Bhag Jayegi is produced by Aanand L Rai of Tanu Weds Manu and Ranjhana fame and is written and directed by Mudassar Aziz.
