The much anticipated trailer of sequel to the 1995 adventure film Jumanji, titled Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle has been released.

The game has changed, but the legend continues.

In the brand new adventure Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the tables are turned as four teenagers in detention are sucked into the world of Jumanji.  When they discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of, they are immediately thrust into the game’s jungle setting, into the bodies of their avatars, played by Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan.  What they discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji –Jumanji plays you.  They’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, or they’ll be stuck in the game forever.

Welcome To The Jungle now and see it in theaters this Christmas!

It is slated for release on December 20.

Actress-producer Priyanka Chopra has taken the top spot on Top Actors chart beating her “Baywatch” co-stars Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.

A week after ranking on The Hollywood Reporter’s inaugural Top Actors chart at No.2, Priyanka replaced Johnson atop the newest tally.

The Top Actors chart is a ranking of the most popular actors on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus, with global data provided by social media analytics company MVPindex.

The chart’s methodology blends social engagement on the platforms along with weekly additions of followers/subscribers. The latest tracking week ended on June 6.

Priyanka, who shot to fame in the US with the show “Quantico”, rises 2-1 on the chart, gaining in multiple metrics, including 98 per cent in Twitter mentions in the tracking week, reports hollywoodreporter.com.

Johnson and Efron rank at numbers 2 and 9, respectively.

The vicious reviews in the foreign press are hard to digest. Really, what do you expect “Baywatch” to be? “Gone With The Wind-Surf”?

No seriously, isn’t self-mockery the only way a 40-year old franchise can survive with its head above the ocean water? “Baywatch” has a swanky sexy swing to its gait even now. You just need to get into the swing of things.

Do not, repeat DO NOT, get judgemental about its amplified level of asininity, or the hammy bimbo-meets-beefcake performances. Just go with the aqueous flow and you are bound to turn the tides of the tripe to your own advantage.

The characters are all beachside prototypes you know, heroic in a very cheesy way.

There is a rescue sequence in mid-ocean where a boat catches fire. One by one the lifeguards run into the water at high-speed, the slow-mo credo temporarily abandoned. The valour is strictly of the dimestore variety. And the dialogues that Mitch (Dwayne Johnson) mouths would put Chinese cookies to shame.

A lot of the phallic/flatulence/fornication gags have been wiped out by the Indian censor board. But you really can’t remove the cheesiness out of “Baywatch”. It’s like taking the cheese out of the burger.

The cheesiest of the lot “and hence the most enjoyable character” is Matt Brody, an Olympian swimmer who has fallen on hard days but continues to be pompous and self-obsessed to the point of seeming a parody of Ayn Rand’s Howard Rourke in bulgy trousers with biceps to match.

The sporting Zac Efron plays this characters with lipsmacking relish. His over-the-top portrayal jells well with the mood of amped-up sea slickness that this film specialises in. Efron even musters the temerity to look at the breasts of a female lifeguard he has just crushed over. When she points out his crass behaviour, he says it’s a compliment.

Don’t look for political correctness in “Baywatch”. The actors just ham for no better reason than to nail the Baywatch spirit to the nearest lamp post and watch the neighbourhood dog pee on it.

And now for our own Priyanka Chopra. Such a massive disappointment. Such a betrayal of trust, having told us over and over again that she plays the arch villain, it’s more like the ouch villain. She’s barely seen on screen for a few minutes. And when she does appear she hams her lines trying to appear evil.

Priyanka Chopra is the intentional comic relief of a film that needs no such relief. If you insist on laughter, try the nerdy Ronnie (Jon Bass).

“Baywatch” never opts for ennui as a decent alternative to smutty entertainment.It lets out a welter of off-colour humour in scenes that have been written to spotlight Dwayne ‘Rock’ Johnson’s dexterity with dumbness. You can’t afford to miss his, and this film’s gumption.

Actress Parineeti Chopra thinks despite the brief presence in the trailer of the much-talked Hollywood film “Baywatch”, Priyanka Chopra is going to be fantastic in the film.

“I think the trailer was amazing. I’ve grown up watching Baywatch. It’s the proudest thing that Priyanka is a part of a big brand like ‘Baywatch’,” Parineeti said at the launch of a new product of mobile brand on Tuesday.

Asked about Priyanka’s brief presence in the trailer, she said: “Trailer is cut according to the story. I don’t think we can involve her in that. She is going to be fantastic in the film. Because I have seen the stills and some stuff. She is looking amazing.”

Directed by Seth Gordon, the film has Priyanka playing the antagonist and also features Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach and Ilfenesh Hadera.

At the professional front, Parineeti is completing the rest of the shooting of “Meri Pyaari Bindu”.

Asked about the status of the film, she said: “We have a whole night shoot today for ‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’. We’ve been rehearsing for a song for last 4-5 days and today we are going to shoot the song finally. But I am excited as I really enjoy dancing. After this one more song is left and we wrap the film.”

Directed by Akshay Roy, the film features Ayushmann Khurrana and slated to release May 12, 2017.

In a latest interview with Vogue India, Kareena Kapoor opened up on her career ambitions and being a ‘working women’ rather than venturing into the Hollywood like other fellow Bollywood actors.

When Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone are making a name in the Hollywood, by working alongside superstars like Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson, Kareena harbors no such hopes.

Kareena in the interview said that unlike Priyanka, she has a different set of priorities, and it is impossible for her to leave her family and move to Los Angeles for pursuing a Hollywood career.

“My responsibilities are a lot more different than hers (Priyanka Chopra),” Kareena said. “I have a husband. I would like to start a family. I can’t give up everything and move to LA. That’s not me.”

Both Priyanka and Deepika are stamping their marks in Hollywood. The former is starring alongside Dwayne Johnson in Baywatch, while the latter is making her Hollywood debut in Vin Diesel-starring ‘xXx: The Return of Xander Cage’.

“The kind of work that these girls have put in, you need to have that kind of dedication of wanting to achieve so much and do it so wonderfully,” Kareena said. “Also, maybe I’m lazy.”

This is not the first time both Priyanka and Deepika have come under the radar of fellow Bollywood actors. Recently, at the IIFA Awards, superstar Salman Khan had mocked the duo saying that “they don’t have anything to do with Indian cinema now.”
