Bigg Boss 1:

Bigg Boss 1 hosted by Arshad Warsi got decent TRPs. Its opening episode managed to get 2.36 and the finale got 2.87. The average rating of the show was 2.72. But in hindsight the first season was the least popular season in terms of TRP.

Bigg Boss 2:

The second season hosted by Shilpa Shetty witnessed a better TRP as its opening episode got 2.42 rating and finale got 3.02 rating points. Average rating of the season was 2.89.

Bigg Boss 3:

Bigg Boss 3 hosted by Amitabh Bachchan got a TRP rating of only 1.96 in its opening episode, and the finale got 3.06. The average rating for the season was 2.83.

Bigg Boss 4 :

The Bigg Boss-Salman saga started from the 4th season onwards. Opening episode of Big Boss 4 got TRP of 3.60, and the finale broke all records earning TRP of 6.70. The average rating for the season was 5.15.

Bigg Boss 5:

Opening episode of Bigg Boss 5 had got 4.30 TRP, whereas the average TRP for the entire season was 4.19.

Bigg Boss 6 :

Opening episode of Bigg Boss 6 had got 3.21 TRP, and the finale had got 4.24. Overall, its average rating remained at 3.81. 

Bigg Boss 7 :

Bigg Boss 7’s opening episode had TRP of 3.85, and the finale had TRP of 4.80. Average rating for the show was 4.40.

Bigg Boss 8 :

The launch episode of Bigg Boss 8 got TRP of 3.80, but the finale hosted by Farah Khan barely managed  TRP of  2.82. Average rating of the season was 3.30.

Bigg Boss 9:

Opening episode of Bigg Boss 9 hosted by Salman had got 3.18 TRP while the finale had a 2.97 rating. Average rating of the show was only 2.90.

Bigg Boss 10:

Bigg Boss 10 , with commoners inside the house had 3.82 opening episode rating and 4.02 finale rating. Its average rating was 3.54.

Bigg Boss 11:

Opening episode of Big Boss 11 broke all records with a TRP rating of 6.35. Finale was even more significant at 8.93 TRP. Average TRP of the show was 6.99.

Bigg Boss 12:

There is no reliable record for the opening and finale episode of Bigg Boss 12. Its average TRP was said to be less than 3.

Bigg Boss 13:

Bigg Boss 13 was the most successful Bigg Boss season, and above all, the most successful reality show in the history of Indian television. Its opening and finale TRP were above 8, and the average rating was above 6.

Bigg Boss 14:

There is no reliable information about the opening and finale episode of Bigg Boss 14. However, its average TRP was just more than 3.

During the show, Maalavika also revealed that her relations with her Guru had become strained due to some reason and what she really wanted was to connect and thank her Guru for everything.

Her prior experience and training in classical music reflected in her performances on Indian Idol. She has already sung over 200 songs for the South film industry, making her debut with the song Nuvvu nenu kalisunte for the film Gangotri. She had won the Nandi Award for the Best Playback Singer for the year 2005 – 2006. She wowed the judges in the audition round itself, where she got a straight entry to the theatre round.

Maalavika feels her training in classical music renders her an advantage in playback singing — “Because of my classical background, I understand the ragas on which a song is based.” All her performances have been top notch, starting with “Pal do Pal ka saath hamara” in the audition round to “Girls like to swing”. She has gone beyond the limitations of language to emerge as the fresh new find of Indian Idol, no matter she could not make it to the top three.

Bollywood’s celebrated filmmaker Karan Johar on Sunday announced he feels “enormously blessed” to have become a father to twins via surrogacy. Celebrities like actress Priyanka Chopra and choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan congratulated him on the “happy” news.

The daughter has been named Roohi — a rearrangement of Karan’s mother’s name Hiroo, and the son has been christened Yash — after Karan’s late father.

Karan, 44, said: “I am ecstatic to share with you all the two most wonderful additions to my life, my children and lifelines: Roohi and Yash. I feel enormously blessed to be a parent to these pieces of my heart who were welcomed into this world with the help of the marvels of medical science.”

Best known for directing films like “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” and “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham…”, Karan is still single.

He says parenthood is “an emotional yet well thought out decision” he has taken after considering all the responsibilities and duties that come with being one.

“In order to arrive at this decision, I have prepared myself mentally, physically, emotionally and logistically to ensure that my children get all the unconditional love, care and attention from me and mine.”

“I have submitted to the fact that my children are my world and priority.”

In his book “An Unsuitable Boy”, Karan not just opened up about his sexuality — albeit in a veiled manner — but also expressed a desire to adopt a child or opt for surrogacy.

The filmmaker, who keeps travelling around the world and is known for his knack of making romantic dramas, understands that having children would mean that “work, travels and social commitments would have to take a back seat”.

Karan also extended gratefulness to the surrogate who fulfilled his “lifelong dream and provided a warm, loving and nurturing environment to my children before bringing them into this world”.

Karan also extended gratitude to IVF specialist Jatin Shah, who was also instrumental in the successful birth of superstar Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri’s son AbRam through surrogacy.

Actors Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra are thrilled with the new additions to the family of Karan, who launched their acting career in 2012 with his directorial “Student of the Year”.

“Finally, I can say I have a younger brother and sister! So happy. So much love to give. Bursting with joy,” Alia tweeted.

Sidharth also wrote: “So happy you took this decision Karan! It’s a full house now. You will be an amazing father, love to your new big family.”

Varun said: “Karan, you are the best human being I know and I’m sure you will make the best dad.”

Congratulating the new father, actress Priyanka Chopra wrote: “So happy for you. May Yash and Roohi always have a beautiful healthy life. Much love always.”

Farah, who has triplets with husband Shirish Kunder through In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF), is glad Karan finally took her advice seriously.

“Best thing to happen to you and they’ll be the youngest people you hang out with, so all’s good,” said Farah, who had children at the age of 43.

While National Award-winning filmmaker Hansal Mehta welcomed Karan to fatherhood, actor Tusshar Kapoor, who became a single parent to Laksshaya Kapoor via surrogacy in 2016, said Karan deserved “these little blessings”.

Actress Preity Zinta tweeted: “So happy for you and Hiroo aunty. I’m sure Yash and Roohi will bring light and happiness to your lives”.

Director Sujoy Ghosh loved the names of the little ones and said: “As one tagline once said ‘It’s all about loving your parents’.”

Filmmaker-host Sajid Khan also congratulated the Dharma Productions head honcho and tweeted: “Like you had said on my show ‘Dharma needs an heir.’ Now Dharma has…love their names.”

Choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan says Deepika Padukone was “completely raw” when she entered Bollywood with her film “Om Shanti Om”, but has now become a fabulous actor by becoming confident of her abilities.

Farah spotted Deepika’s talent and honed it for her 2007 film “Om Shanti Om” – which also features superstar Shah Rukh Khan. But much before that, she was a successful model and had endless endorsement deals to her credit.

“Deepika in ‘Om Shanti Om’ was a very different person and Deepika in ‘Happy New Year’ was a very different person. When she was in ‘Om Shanti Om’, she was completely raw and she was all in awe. She would hardly speak. She would do everything but she was very nervous and literally we had to coach her – look left, look right, look up, look down, say it like that,” Farah said.

Farah talked about Deepika with actress Neha Dhupia during an episode of her audio talk show “#NoFilterNeha”, read a statement.

Farah, known for making several big budget films, added: “But in ‘Happy New Year’, she was very confident. She had also become a fabulous actor.

“She got confidence in her acting abilities because after ‘Om Shanti Om’, she did various movies and I would look at the movies and think why is she wasting herself doing these movies and she’s worthy of a lot more. Till “Cocktail” came and suddenly I was like ‘Oh, Okay!'”

Karan Johar is “stressed out” and he has said all what he feels, said Director-Choreographer Farah Khan on Wednesday reacting to Karan Johar’s video message clarifying his stand on Pakistani artistes working in India.

“We were shooting together yesterday. Karan is a dear friend of mine. I know he is stressed out and he has said it all what he feels,” she said when asked about controversy over “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” which features Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in an important role.

“Karan will never do anything that is not patriotic. All of us feel like that. The statement has finally arrived and it says it all. Now matter should be put to rest,” she added.

“There are a lot of things that bother us. Let’s not get into those things because whenever we open our mouth we get into trouble,” Farah said.

The “Happy New Year” helmer who has opened a dance school was speaking to the media at an interaction session with the students on Wednesday.

Quizzed, according to her who is the best dancer in Bollywood, the 42-year-old choreographer said Govinda is the best as his dance brings a smile on her face and she feels happy to see him grooving.

Talking about her dance school, she said, “I have 25 years of experience in choreography. I will share all the experience with the students in a 12-week course.”

“When I came to the Industry there was no such professional institute. It would take a long time to become a dance director. There are so many good dancers but they don’t have the technical knowledge. So my expectation is after this course they become better in their job,” she explained.

Filmmaker Karan Johar will be back on the small screen with the fifth edition of the popular chat show “Koffee With Karan” on November 6. It will be launched on Star World and Star World HD.

Speculation has been rife since the beginning of August on the launch date of the show, but the date was announced on Thursday via a statement from the channel.

In its past seasons, the show has been graced by a string of A-list actors including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Preity Zinta, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Gurinder Chadha, Farah Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Alia Bhatt and more at their candid best.

Earlier, it was speculated that Pakistani actor Fawad Khan would be the first guest on the chat show. But Karan denied the reports.

He said: “No. I haven’t yet reached the combination. There has been a lot of conjecture about that. We are zeroing on episode one and will answer soon.”

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia, who is gearing up for the release of upcoming trilingual horror-comedy “Devi”, says nothing could excite her more than the opportunity to share screen space with actor-filmmaker Prabhudheva. “When director Vijay told me that Prabhudheva will be playing the lead, I was filled with joy and nothing could have excited me more. I had always idolized him and had even performed at a tribute show for him. I had always wanted to meet him,” Tamannaah. In the film, Tamannaah plays a dual role of a simple housewife and of an actress.
“It’s a film that holds a lot of responsibility and excitement. I’m playing the titular role for the first time in my career and that makes everything even more special,” she said.

Directed by Vijay, the film releases worldwide on October 7, as “Abhinetri” in Telugu and as “Tutak Tutak Tutiya” in Hindi.

Talking about her solo number “Gokka Makka”, which has already given audiences a glimpse of Tamannaah’s stunning moves, she said it’s very close to her heart. “It took us 15 days to rehearse the song, and followed by two more days of shoot. By the time we finished shooting, I became emotional,” she recalled.

The film is Tamannaah’s first trilingual, and it was wrapped up in 58 days.

“It’s not a joke to complete a trilingual film in 58 days. The credit goes to my director and the producers who ensured everything was well planned and executed. There are three producers and each one of them was so involved,” she said.
The film also stars Sonu Sood, who had produced the Hindi version.

The ninth edition of the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is here. The brand new show will have actress Jaqueline Fernandez making her television debut as a judge, share her experience. Ganesh Hegde, Farah Khan and Karan Johar are the judges on the show.
