Shah Rukh Khan feels Indian films need do get better in storytelling and technology https://glint.tv/movies/shah-rukh-khan-feels-indian-films-need-do-get-better-in-storytelling-and-technology/ Sat, 02 Jul 2016 03:26:50 +0000 https://glint.tv/?p=2521

Shah Rukh Khan believes Hollywood has done much better in the Indian market in comparison to their Bollywood counterparts. The Bollywood films have failed to impress on various fronts so far this year.

Be it script, screenplay or cinematography, Indian films have struggled to match the high standards set by movies like The Conjuring 2, Me Before You and X-Men: Apocalypse, to name a few.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has also pointed out the same, saying that the Indian films are required to up the ante, and need to get better in storytelling and technology to match the increased number of quality Hollywood movies coming in the Indian market.

“We are the biggest market in the world and it will be unfortunate if our Indian products (films) don’t do well in the Indian market and cinema can get a little affected not so fast but it can get affected,” Shah Rukh insisted.

The Badshah of Bollywood, meanwhile, applauded the local Indian cinema, which is doing pretty well, unlike other countries, where it has been overtaken by Hollywood films.

SRK also pointed out China’s example, where regional cinema is doing well, but the country has restrictions over the number of foreign films releasing in theaters, unlike India, which is a free market.

“We are the only country where our local Indian cinema is doing well in local areas,” Shah Rukh insisted. “We are the only country left. Otherwise in other counties, it is Hollywood films that are looked up to for commerce.”
