Every now and then Jacqueline Fernandez is compared with Katrina Kaif. This could be because much like Katrina she is not from India, and is close to superstar Salman Khan.

Jacqueline’s career took a jump after starring opposite Salman in Kick, much like Katrina, whose career soared after featuring opposite to Sultan star in Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya.

The Manama-born Jacqueline, however, is not pleased with the comparison at all. She insisted that Katrina was like an inspiring figure for her when she was entering the Bollywood.

“The comparisons aren’t fair, because both of us are different individuals, and people should see things that way,” Jacqueline said on her comparison with Katrina.

“Over the years, she has achieved a lot,” Jacqueline insisted. “When I had first come here (B-Town), she was like an example. It was like, ‘If Katrina can do it, I can do it too.’ She was and still is an inspiration for a lot of people who have come from outside India.”

Small screen debut for Jacqueline Fernandez

Meanwhile, the Dishoom actress is making her small-screen debut with a dance-reality show Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa. Jacqueline will be judging and mentoring the contests alongside director-producer Karan Johar and choreographer Ganesh Hegde.

“It’s very tricky and a very daunting task, but it’s also an exciting experience.” Jacqueline insisted.

The Roy star said that television has a greater reach and connect with masses in comparison with cinema. “Everyone may not go and buy a ticket to watch a movie but everyone has a television at home,” Jacqueline pointed out. “It definitely has a huge reach and a huge connect.”

She, however, refused to draw comparisons between the two mediums. “I don’t know if I would want to compare it to cinema,” Jacqueline said.
