Do you think Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif set the silver screen on fire with their sizzling chemistry in Ek Tha Tiger song ‘Mashallah’, then you must watch this.

‘Swag Se Swagat’, the recently-launched song from the upcoming sequel Tiger Zinda Hai, takes the hotness-quotient a couple of notches higher, with Salman Khan rapping, Katrina Kaif grooving to the beats (we know how fabulous a dancer she is) and a sea-side backdrop.

‘Swag Se Swagat’ is a high-budget Yash Raj spectacle, with all the pizzazz needed for a song to accommodate Salman and Katrina. Be it the music composition, the lyrics (of course) and the dance movements — it is all about Salman-Katrina’s oomph factor, which the song completely utilises to its benefit.

Swag Se Swagat’, musically, isn’t different from what we listen to everyday — filled with loud beats and electronic music. Visually, the song is more fulfilling.

The song could be a lot better and, more importantly, fresher. Sung by Vishal Dadlani and Neha Bhasin, composed by Vishal-Shekhar and penned by Irshaad Kamil, ‘Swag Se Swagat’ is a tribute to Katrina’s enviable body and impeccable dancing skills, Salman Khan’s weird dance steps (he takes out the inner cloth of his pocket and shakes it. Why? No idea) and a not-so-successful attempt at another ‘Mashallah’.

Tiger Zinda Hai is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and backed by Yash Raj Films; it is slated for a 22 December release this year.

Designed as a comic book character and mounted as a musical, “Jagga Jasoos” with its episodic adventure tales is a fiction fantasy that is visually appealing.

The visuals in the film are striking and surreal. The lighting, textures and tone of the frames fluctuate between the darkish, atmospheric hues seen in Harry Potter films and the bright vibrant palettes seen in Disney films.

The narrative begins as an origin story, with Shruti Sengupta (Katrina Kaif) introducing the comics and the character, “Jagga Jasoos” (Ranbir Kapoor) to some kids at an event. She does so in an “interactive and informal” manner. In other words she acts as the sutradhaar or the story teller giving out first-hand information about Jagga and his antics.

The tale encapsulated in three episodes of the comic, reveal how Jagga, an orphan, was mentored by Badal Bagchi who he fondly called “Tutti Fruti”. Badal treated Jagga like his own and it was he who advised him, “Jab seedhi baat seedhi tarah samajh na aaye, toh use ulta kar ke dekho,” which simply meant, when you don’t understand simple things in a simple manner, then you need to see them from the opposite spectrum. And thence began Jagga’s foray into self-styled investigations.

Ranbir Kapoor as Jagga is brilliant. He lives his character on screen, which is sparkling and lively. He is aptly supported by Katrina Kaif as the London returned journalist Shruti Sengupta, who is hunting for leads in her story on the war against global terrorism. She plays the dumb-damsel with loads of bad luck on her side, to perfection. She is effortless in her comic timing and action.

Saswata Chatterjee as Jagga’s foster father Badal Bagchi, and harbinger of “bad luck” is equally brilliant. Saurabh Shukla in a convoluted role chasing Badal is stereotypical and flat.

The plot of the film is sketchy and begins on a shaky note, but the scenes roll out seamlessly in dream-like sequences thanks to the brilliant editing by Akiv Ali and Ajay Sharma. Also Director Anurag Basu’s frame composition shows his mastery over his craft.

The music by Pritam Chakraborty adds to the flavour of the narration. The songs in the film help to take the narrative forward as well as drive home a lesson. Striking among them are, “Sab khana khake, daru peeke, chale gaye,” and “Galti se mistake,” which is replete with philosophy and life lessons.

The choreography by Shiamak Davar is fresh and invigorating as each song is artistically presented.

Shot across terrains in Manipur, Kolkata and South Africa, Cinematographer S. Ravi Varman’s lens capture the locales in their full glory along with the animals of the region.

Overall, with a run time of two hours and forty five minutes, there are moments when you inadvertently end up snatching forty winks.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan sprang a surprise for Katrina Kaif when he sang the “Happy Birthday” song for the actress, who will turn a year older on Sunday.

Katrina and Salman were sharing the stage at the kick-off press conference of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Weekend and Awards in New York on Thursday evening.

Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Anupam Kher, Kriti Sanon, Sushant Singh Rajput and Varun Dhawan too were on the stage and were talking about their IIFA experience one by one.

When it was Salman’s chance, he consulted Anupam about when the “date” of the IIFA Awards was. Given his quick wit, Salman then added: “I am very bad with dates… The only date I remember is Katrina’s birthday.”

He paused and added that it is Katrina’s birthday on July 16. He then started singing “Happy Birthday to you… Happy Birthday dear Katrina”, before moving forward to give her a side hug and a peck on the cheek.

Katrina, who will celebrate her birthday in the Big Apple, smiled away.

Later, at a limited media gathering, when Katrina was asked a memorable thing she did when she was 18, she said: “I met Salman.”

When Salman was asked what he is planning to do for Katrina’s birthday, he Katrina said: “It’s not a national event….”

Salman then promptly quipped: “India mein toh chhutti hai… Ab US mein bhi ho jaayega (It’s a holiday in India, and it might happen in US too).”

The makers of ‘Jagga Jasoos’, one of-a-kind musical movie, have released yet another song ‘Khaana Khaake’.

The song ultimately says that life is a party where everyone has to come enjoy, have food and leave.

The quirky song has incorporated instruments like trumpet, piano, acoustic guitar, keyboard, electronic guitar and bass. 

This film shows the story of a boy by the name, Jagga, who goes in search of his father. Shruti joins him along the way to help him out.

Jagga Jasoos is all set to release tomorrow.

The makers of ‘Jagga Jasoos’ continue to amuse us with yet another song ‘Jhumeritalaiya’.  

Both Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif play school kids in the film. The song beautifully shows how they fall for each other.

The sweet and crazy lyrics have been written by Neelesh Misra and sung by Arijit Singh and Mohan Kanan with music by Pritam.

We will be seeing Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif jodi for the third time after ‘Rajneeti’ and ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ in ‘Jagga Jasoos’.

This is hilarious! Riteish Deshmukh stops at nothing. 

Is there anything left for Riteish Deshmukh to steal after stealing movie posters, movie trailers and interviews of his fellow actors? Director Anurag Basu is excited to present actor Ranbir Kapoor’s new and different version in his forthcoming film “Jagga Jasoos”.

Ranbir, who has essayed the role of a college boy, a rock star and more in the past, will be seen as a school boy for the first time on the big screen.

Basu said in a statement: “Ranbir has this inherent charm and innocence which he brought forth in his role. I wanted the audience to see a new and different version of Ranbir, and with ‘Jagga Jasoos’, the audience will see him as a high school boy, playing a character half his age for the very first time.”

The logo of the much awaited film “Thugs Of Hindostan” is finally out. 

With this film Yash Raj Films (YRF) has managed a casting coup with megastar Amitabh Bachchan and superstar Aamir Khan. Fireworks are likely at the box office.

YRF is bringing the two stars together on the big screen for the first time.

“Thugs of Hindostan” is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and stars Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh along with Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.

Now that the logo is out it seems that the makers of the much-publicised movie have taken inspiration from the hugely popular fantasy series “Game of Thrones” for it.

One can’t overlook the stark resemblance between the font of the film’s logo to that of the show.
At the moment, Aamir is prepping for a ‘big action sequence’ for the movie. The Yash Raj Films’ project promises to have action at sea and a dose of history.

The film will go on the floors on June 5 on specially-built ships. The shooting will begin aboard two massive specially-constructed ships — built over two months — that are currently docked in a Maltese sea port.

The film is set for a Diwali 2018 release.
