Acclaimed actor Manoj Bajpayee thinks Shah Rukh Khan possess a star charisma that he doesn’t have.

“Stars like Shah Rukh Khan have a power over the entire nation. One glimpse of him and people go berserk. It always amazed me how it can happen. It can’t be created. Either you are born with it or not.

“If I stand at the airport people won’t go crazy but if Shah Rukh stands people will because he has a star charisma but I don’t have it,” the actor said in a promotional interview of “Naam Shabana”.

“What I have is the ability to deliver and perform. That is what people expect from me and I try to stick to it,” added Manoj who is all geared up for his next release which stars Tapsee Pannu as the lead role.

The 47-year-old actor thinks that today audience is showing a lot of interest in realistic films.

“For today’s writer, director or producer, women are a colleague and equally important part of the society. Earlier it was different. Women weren’t that much empowered. Today a director wants to work with a unique story,” said the “Gangs of Wasseypur” actor.

“Common people always love to watch good stories but very few filmmakers used to make films like those. Now there is no shortage of good filmmaker in the industry. That is why these films are getting made and females are in the central character,” he added.

Speaking about his upcoming film “Naam Shabana”, the National Award winning actor says that the film is not a prequel of “Baby”.

Neeraj Pandey picked the character “Shabana” and went in her past to show how she became a spy. In “Baby”, Shabana had an immense impact that’s why he was tempted to get the back story of this girl.”

“Naam Shabana” is an action spy thriller movie directed by Shivam Nair and produced by Neeraj Pandey and Shital Bhatia under the Friday Filmworks banner.

Taapsee Pannu’s upcoming film ‘Naam Shabana’ is an action thriller directed by Shivam Nair and produced by Neeraj Pandey.

The film marks to be Hindi cinema’s first spin off, a concept that is widely explored in the west. A Spin off that focuses, in particular, in more detail on one aspect of that original work (e.g. a particular topic, character, or an event) in this case being Taapsee’s characters from Baby (directed by Neeraj Pandey). The film will also have cameos played by all the actors who had worked in Baby.

The film brings back ‘Baby’ team including Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Danny Denzongpa and Madhurima Tuli besides new entrants Manoj Bajpayee, Elli Avram and Prithviraj Sukumaran.

Taapsee has undergone training in mixed martial arts, Kudo and Krav Maga for the role of Shabana Kaif in the action thriller. French stuntman Cyril Raffaelli was roped in as stunt director for the film while Abbas Ali Khan lent his skills as a fight instructor.

Shot in Mumbai and Malaysia, ‘Naam Shabana’ is set to released on March 31, 2017.

In his 24 years long acting career, Shah Rukh Khan has established himself as a go-to-man for any romantic-commercial cinema. His recent movies, such as Chennai Express, Dilwale, Fan and Happy New Year, were successful at the Box Office.

Manoj Bajpayee, who is unlike SRK, and took the road less travelled by, by doing unconventional roles, said that the Bollywood Badshah “was born to do commercial cinema”. Interestingly, Bajpayee, who is known to be a method actor, studied acting with SRK in his early days.

“Shah Rukh was born to do commercial cinema and I was born to do what I am doing, what I am known for,” Bajpayee said. “Shah Rukh has done extremely well in the category he has chosen for himself and we all are really proud of him and I really hope I keep making him proud.”

Shah Rukh Khan turning down Hollywood offers

Shah Rukh has a massive fan base in the West. He has been a face of Bollywood; still the superstar is not doing any projects in the Hollywood. His next movie is ‘Raees’ releasing next year.

According to Shah Rukh’s close friend Farah Khan, the Badshah is turning down roles because they are not doing justice to his image. “I know for a fact that Shah Rukh has turned down many Hollywood roles as they were not big enough for him,” Farah said.

Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone are making giant leaps in the Hollywood. The former will be seen in ‘Baywatch’ opposite Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock, while Deepika is making her Hollywood debut alongside Vin Diesel in ‘XXX: The Return Of Xander Cage’.

Shirish Kunder’s comeback short-film ‘Kriti’ has come under scrutiny, after news went viral that it is copied from a Nepali film ‘Bob’. It is been said that the writer has lifted the plot almost completely, and there are similarities between a number of scenes.

‘Bob’, directed by Aneel Neupane, went online last year. Neupane took on Facebook, and said that he was “shocked to find so much similarities” between Bob and Kriti, and alleged that “Shirish Kunder practically stole the plot and made it into his film”.

Kunder, meanwhile, termed all allegations as baseless, adding that it is virtually not possible to copy the idea, as when ‘Bob’ was released ‘Kriti’ was already in the post-production. He added that these untrue allegations “just spoil the fun of everything”.

“That short film (‘Bob’) was released on May 12 whereas we shot ‘Kriti’ in February, after which it was in post-production,” Kunder pointed out. “How is it even possible to ‘lift’ the idea, unless I was time travelling? These allegations are technically, factually and logically, baseless.”

The movie featuring Manoj Bajpayee, Radhika Apte and Neha Sharma has received positive reviews from both fans and critics, after its release on Wednesday. Bajpayee is essaying a writer’s role, while Apte is playing his friend/therapist, and Neha is portraying a agoraphobic girlfriend.
