Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has shared a cryptic message about the discrimination he has faced in the Hindi film industry over appearance.

Taking to Twitter on Monday night, Nawazuddin, whose performance has been lauded by critics and audience alike, wrote: “Thank you for making me realise that I cannot be paired along with the fair and handsome because I am dark and not good looking.”

The “Manjhi: The Mountain Man” actor added: “But I never focus on that.”

However, the 43-year-old actor’s message is unclear as to who he was referring to.

On the acting front, Nawazuddin is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film “Munna Michael”. The film directed by Sabbir Khan is set to release on July 21.

“Munna Michael” also stars Tiger Shroff and debutante Nidhhi Agerwal. It is based on the story of Munna, a street boy from Teen Batti slum locality here. He loves dancing and grows up idolising King of Pop Michael Jackson.

Nawazuddin was last seen in the Sridevi starrer “Mom” and will also be feature in “Babumoshai Bandookbaaz”, which is slated to release on August 25.

For all the dance aficionados out there, our very own ‘Munna Michael’ has arrived. Put on your dancing shoes as Tiger Shroff is here with some amazing dance moves in his upcoming film ‘Munna Michael’. 

The trailer of his upcoming dance action film ‘Munna Michael’ has been released.

The film stars Tiger Shroff and Niddhi Agerwal in lead roles. The film traces the journey of how Munna (Tiger), a street con from Mumbai achieves his dream. Niddhi Agerwal makes her Bollywood debut with the film. While Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays a ruthless Delhi gangster who wants to learn how to dance. 

Directed  by Sabbir Khan, ‘Munna Michael’ is said to be a tribute to Michael Jackson and his electric dance moves.

National Award winning actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui says he took up a role in “Munna Michael” — in which actor Tiger Shroff pays tribute to his dancing icon Michael Jackson — to overcome his fear of dancing.

Nawazuddin says he has never attempted to dance in front of the camera, despite being in the industry for over 15 years.

“I will be seen dancing in ‘Munna Michael’. I signed that film because I was scared of dancing and wanted to overcome that fear. So, I took it as a challenge. I have never danced on screen. In fact, I have never danced in my real life too… like in parties.”

“I used to think how these actors can dance onscreen. But I wanted to overcome that fear, so I joined that film,” he added.

“Munna Michael”, which will be directed by Sabbir Khan, will also feature Ronit Roy and Nidhhi Agerwal.

Nawazuddin will next be seen in “Haraamkhor”, which has been directed by Shlok Sharma and is slated to release on January 13.

Actor Tiger Shroff, who will be seen sharing screen space with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the upcoming “Munna Micheal”, calls him an amazing actor and says that he has learnt a lot from him.

Speaking on Monday at the Nickelodeon Host Kids Choice Awards, Tiger said: “Working with Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a superb experience for me. He is an amazing actor. There are so many things to learn from him.”

The film stars Tiger Shroff in the lead and Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the main antagonist.

It is also said that Tiger as a Michael Jackson fanatic will be showcasing some of his smooth moves inspired by Michael Jackson , and Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be matching steps with him.

“I think fans are going to enjoy his character. It is quite a different type of character. So I think his fans are definitely going to be happy to see him in this film,” said Tiger.

Wearing a casual black and golden jacket, Tiger was looking sporty and cool. When asked about his bearded look, Tiger replied: ‘It is for Munna Michael’.

Directed by Sabbir Khan, the dance-based musical also stars Nidhhi Agerwal and is slated to release on July 7.

“Sabbir makes commercial films, but he is focussed on detailing. He doesn’t overdo things on the set and wants the film to look realistic. I like it when directors don’t play to the galleries,” Nawazuddin said in a statement.
