Amidst relentless protests of banning the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial Padmavati, the release date of the film has gone for a toss for an uncertain period of time. After the Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh starrer (which was slated to release on 1 December) was postponed, the December release calendar looks quite different.

While initially, the beginning of the month was anchored by Deepika’s Rs-190-crore period drama, the end had Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger Zinda hai to give 2017 a good wrap at the box office

1 Decemeber will also have a much talked about Hollywood flick based on The New York Times bestseller novel, titled Wonder, starring Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson.

However, with one big budget film taking back foot, a few other filmmakers are drawing advantages from it. Fukrey Returns and Monsoon Shootoutwhich earlier had different release dates, now have revised ones and will hit the big screens on 8 December.

The second installment of the Fukrey franchise has almost all the actors from the first part including Pulkit Samrat, Richa Chadha, Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh and Ali Fazal. The plot of the second part will stick to genre of action comedy just like the previous part.

After a long wait of four years, the Vijay Varma and Nawazudin Siddiqui starrer Monsoon Shootout is finally all set to release on 8 December. While earlier, the makers selected a slot alongside Tiger Zinda Hai, after the news of Padmavati‘s release being voluntarily withheld, producer Guneet Monga opted for the second Friday of the last month of the year for the due release.

“For almost a year, we were travelling across festivals with the film and then we wanted to wait and release the film when we felt the time was right. We had a successful release of Haraamkhor earlier this year and 2017 has proven to be a year when good content films were being accepted. So we feel now is the best time to release the film,” he was quoted as saying by Koimoi.com.

Among all the Hollywood releases, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle will release release on 15 and 29 December respectively.

This is how the December chart of the major releases now looks like:

1 December —  Firangi, Brij Mohan Amar Rahe, Wonder, Wonder Wheel

8 December — Fukrey Returns, Monsoon Shootout, Mark Felt

15 December — Star Wars: The Last Jedi, My Friends Dulhaniya, Ferdinand

22 December — Tiger Zinda Hai, Downsizing, The Greatest Showman

29 December — Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, Monster Trucks

Watch: Tiger Zinda Hai song ‘Swag Se Swagat’ hits with grooves and beats https://glint.tv/movies/watch-tiger-zinda-hai-song-swag-se-swagat-is-all-about-grooves-and-beats/ Tue, 21 Nov 2017 15:32:10 +0000 https://glint.tv/?p=10103

Swag Se Swagat

Do you think Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif set the silver screen on fire with their sizzling chemistry in Ek Tha Tiger song ‘Mashallah’, then you must watch this.

‘Swag Se Swagat’, the recently-launched song from the upcoming sequel Tiger Zinda Hai, takes the hotness-quotient a couple of notches higher, with Salman Khan rapping, Katrina Kaif grooving to the beats (we know how fabulous a dancer she is) and a sea-side backdrop.

‘Swag Se Swagat’ is a high-budget Yash Raj spectacle, with all the pizzazz needed for a song to accommodate Salman and Katrina. Be it the music composition, the lyrics (of course) and the dance movements — it is all about Salman-Katrina’s oomph factor, which the song completely utilises to its benefit.

Swag Se Swagat’, musically, isn’t different from what we listen to everyday — filled with loud beats and electronic music. Visually, the song is more fulfilling.

The song could be a lot better and, more importantly, fresher. Sung by Vishal Dadlani and Neha Bhasin, composed by Vishal-Shekhar and penned by Irshaad Kamil, ‘Swag Se Swagat’ is a tribute to Katrina’s enviable body and impeccable dancing skills, Salman Khan’s weird dance steps (he takes out the inner cloth of his pocket and shakes it. Why? No idea) and a not-so-successful attempt at another ‘Mashallah’.

Tiger Zinda Hai is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and backed by Yash Raj Films; it is slated for a 22 December release this year.

Salman Khan’s ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ to be shot in Abu Dhabi https://glint.tv/movies/salman-khans-tiger-zinda-hai-to-be-shot-in-abu-dhabi/ Mon, 01 May 2017 11:37:54 +0000 https://glint.tv/?p=8454

After Morocco and Vienna, the team of “Tiger Zinda Hai” will shoot in Abu Dhabi over a 65-day schedule from May 4 at multiple locations in the city. A set is being designed by some of those workers who helped to build the “Star Wars” set in 2013. The Yash Raj Films (YRF) project is a sequel to the blockbuster film “Ek Tha Tiger”. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, it features superstar Salman Khan and actress Katrina Kaif.

Zafar said: “A film like ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ requires a certain scale, which we found in Abu Dhabi. Keeping all the practical measures in mind, the kind of support we got on the infrastructure was phenomenal. That along with some stunning real locations, makes shooting in Abu Dhabi special.”

Salman said in a statement: “‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ is a film of sizeable scale and context. Abu Dhabi, with a variety of locations, and gracious hosts, is ideal to shoot for a film like this one. I hope that the entire unit will enjoy our time here.”

Katrina feels the city fits in perfectly with the movie’s story. “I look forward to shooting in eye-catching locations and on the impressive set here,” she added. Work has begun on the construction of a 20,000 sq metres backlot for the movie’s shoot.

The set is being designed by Rajnish Hedao from Acropolis DMG, and over 150 workers will be on site to create the film’s main set, many of whom helped to build the “Star Wars” set in Abu Dhabi in 2013. The production unit will also film at several other locations around Abu Dhabi before moving onto the set.

twofour54’s Film and TV Services division will provide production services for the movie, with a crew of 300 expected to work on the movie. Government support will come from the UAE military, which will provide military equipment, including choppers during the shoot.

Officials in Abu Dhabi note Bollywood’s increasing attraction towards the city as a shooting destination. Maryam Al Mheiri, CEO of Media Zone Authority – Abu Dhabi, said: “Abu Dhabi is gaining traction in India as the emerging new home of Bollywood, as a result of what we can offer this dynamic industry: a generous 30 per cent rebate, a huge variety of locations, and crew with Bollywood experience.”

Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif back together for ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ https://glint.tv/movies/salman-khan-katrina-kaif-back-together-for-tiger-zinda-hai/ Wed, 22 Mar 2017 08:25:23 +0000 https://glint.tv/?p=8161

Superstar Salman Khan is happy to be “back together” with actress Katrina Kaif to shoot a song for upcoming film “Tiger Zinda Hai”, a sequel to 2012 blockbuster “Ek Tha Tiger”.

The “Sultan” star took to Twitter to share a glimpse from the shoot. He posted an image with him in tuxedo and Katrina — with her locks falling over her shoulder — in a gown.

Salman captioned the photograph with Katrina — his once rumoured ladylove: ‘Back together’ in ‘Tiger Zinda Hai'”.

Yash Raj Films’ “Tiger Zinda Hai” has been shooting in scenic locales of Tyrol, Austria, currently. The film’s unit has wrapped up shooting in a historic and quaint Golden Roof for a song with Salman and Katrina.

The portion shot at Golden Roof with Salman and Katrina is expected to be a big visual attraction in the film, and the song shot matches up to the YRF reputation of unforgettable visual treats onscreen. The song is choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant, read a statement from the production banner.

Salman and Katrina — who make headlines for their off-screen chemistry and rumoured on-and-off relationship — will again be seen together in the sequel of their 2012 film “Ek Tha Tiger”. They also got together for “Yuvvraaj” — which turned to be a dud at the box office.

The two have featured together in films like “Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya?” and “Partner”.

Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar is directing the sequel.

“Ek Tha Tiger” centered on the life of an agent of RAW (Salman), code-named Tiger, who falls in love with a Pakistani spy from ISI (Katrina) during an investigation and how Tiger’s ideology and principles change over time.

Earlier, Salman and Zafar worked together in 2016 blockbuster “Sultan”. The makers of “Tiger Zinda Hai” have locked Christmas 2017 for the release of the film.

Salman also tweeted a picture from the sets of Tiger Zinda Hai
