After fighting many battles with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), the trailer of Alankrita Shrivastav directorial venture “Lipstick Under My Burkha” was released on Tuesday in Mumbai.

During the film’s trailer launch, Ekta Kapoor, who will be presenting and distributing the film, said that she had no problem with the CBFC, but with the society.

”There is no problem with CBFC, my problem is with society, which at some point speaks about the same issue in its own ways. If you talk to any girl, you will come to know about five to 10 such incidents happening with her in one day where, being a woman, she has to prove herself a little harder. She has to learn how to combat from a very young age,” Ekta Said.

Explaining about the middle finger shown in the poster of the film “Lipstick Under My Burkha”, Ekta said: “The middle finger is not for the CBFC but pointed towards the patriarchal society that does not let us come out, which compels us to suppress our voice. That is why this issue is not just CBFC’s, this issue is about ideology, it is about patriarchy.”

During the press conference, the panel consisted of Ekta Kapoor, Alankrita Srivastava, Konkana Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak Shah, Aahana Kumra and Plabita Borthakur.

The film, produced by Prakash Jha, was stuck with the CBFC for six months as it revolves around four women and their sexual desires and freedom. But finally, the CBFC has passed the trailer of the film with ‘A’ certificate.

Ratna Pathak Shah, who was one of the senior most actors among the four women in the film, said the film should not be loaded with any label as it is difficult to live with and she did this film as she found it very interesting and funny.

“Let’s not load the film down with words such as ‘life changing movement’ or ‘new wave’ etc., as these things, these labels can be very hard to live with.

“When I saw the film, I found it extremely interesting, extremely sensitive, funny film. I enjoyed watching it and I think even the audience will do,” said the Sarabhai vs Sarabhai actress.

She also addressed the issue of Goods and Services Tax (GST) by saying: “Not just lipstick, but sanitary pads should also not be taxed by the government. It’s a necessity for a woman’s hygiene.”

“Lipstick Under My Burkha”, starring Konkona Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak Shah, Aahana Kumra, Plabita Borthakur and Vikrant Massey, has already created a great buzz among the audience. The film will be released on July 21.

Salman Khan’s upcoming historical war drama “Tubelight”, has created a buzz with the release of the film’s new trailer. The trailer opens with a battle sequence which serves as the backdrop for the film. The two minute seven seconds long trailer does not reveal much but it is vibrant, fun and has a lot of heart.

After blockbusters like “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” and “Ek Tha Tiger”, “Tubelight” is Salman and Kabir’s third film together.

Slated to release on Eid, “Tubelight” also features Salman’s younger brother Sohail Khan and Chinese star Zhu Zhu. The film also has a special appearance by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

The trailer of one of the most awaited movies of the year, Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon has been released. The movie Stars Kangana Ranaut, Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor, the film is a set in Burma (Now, Myanmar) and as expected, it’s high on both emotions and intensity. 

While Saif Ali Khan plays a filmmaker in love with Kangana Ranaut, a popular actress of that time. On the behest of the British government, when she’s asked to visit the war-front to entertain the Indian soldiers, she meets Shahid Kapoor, an Indian soldier fighting the war. 

In true Vishal Bhardwaj style, there’s much grandeur in the trailer and amidst all the action, the underlying emotions are hard to miss. Also, you can definitely expect landmark performances from the cast.

Rangoon marks Vishal’s second collaboration with Saif after Omkara and his third outing with Shahid after Kaminey and Haider. It’s the first time however that he’s working with Kangana Ranaut.

An unlikely love triangle unfolds when married professor, Shyam, has an illicit affair with his student, Sandhya, who in turn is trying to be wooed by her classmate Kamal. Set in a small town in Madhya Pradesh, Haraamkhor is a prohibited / twisted love story witnessed through the eyes of two adolescents.

Haraamkhor is directed by Shlok Sharma and produced by Anurag Kashyap. The film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Shweta Tripathi in lead roles. Nawazuddin Siddiqui received the Best Actor award for the film at the New York Indian Film Festival.The film is said to have been shot in 16 days only. In April 2015, a FIR was registered against director Shlok Sharma on a complaint by Balbharati, Maharashtra’s textbook bureau, objecting to striking similarities between its logo and promotion scenes from Haraamkhor.

The next instalment of the adult comedy Masti is out. The Great Grand Masti team launched the first look and the trailer of the film, which the maker claimed to be greater and grander. Directed by Indra Kumar, the film stars Urvashi Rautela in the lead with the three regular heroes Reitesh Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani. The film also stars Mishti, Sonal Chauhan, Pooja Chopra. At the launch the Masti trio and the director were seen having fun with the Urvashi.  

Yami Gautam and Pulkit Samrat are rumoured to be the latest Bollywood lovebirds. Before this promotional interview for their latest movie ‘Junooniyat’, the couple was very sure that they won’t take any personal questions. But once the camera started rolling, their sparkling off screen chemistry was hard to miss.

Their flirtatious banter makes them a delight to watch. Pulkit Sharma and Yami Gautam are on a promotional spree for their upcoming film, which is also based on a soul-stirring love story.

The makers and actors Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt of Udta Punjab have come out aggressively defend their film. The Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC) has asked the producers to drop ‘Punjab’ from the title of the film ‘Udta Punjab’. Earlier the Censor Board had objected to the excessive use of profanities in the film and asked for sought 89 cuts to give it a ‘UA’ certificate.

The film’s producer Anurag Kashyap has told the media that “if any film is changed slightly, it is Qatl-e-Aam of it. No filmmaker wants to have cuts and leave it at that”.

Amitabh Bachchan in all his modesty claims that he still has plenty to learn from new generation of actors like Nawazuddin Siddiqu and Vidya Balan. All three powerhouse of talents will be seen together in Sujoy Ghosh’s latest production ‘TE3N’. Amitabh and Vidya shared their mutual admiration for each other at the trailer launch of the movie shot entirely in Kolkata.

Amitabh Bachchan has already featured in a couple of films with the Kahaani actress Vidya, including Paa. “It’s always a joy to work with Vidya, and I was equally delighted to work with Nawaz whom I’ve always admired. He is a phenomenal talent,” told Bachchan.

The trailer launch of the Ribhu Gupta film comes up after the first poster of Te3n, which was realeased a few days back and showed Bachchan and Siddiqui on a scooter. Filmmmaker Sujoy Ghosh, the creative director of the film wanted to film shot in Goa but had to shift the location to Kolkata due to permission issues.
