From their dresses to their appearances at shows, the comparisons between Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra were going over the top.

With Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra slaying the international platform like a boss, comparison between the two is bound to happen. While Deepika made her Hollywood debut with Vin Diesel in xXx: Return of Xander Cage, Priyanka will be seen sharing screen space with ‘The Rock‘ Dwayne Johnson in her upcoming film Baywatch.

Both the actresses have been pitted against each other on many occasions, including The Ellen Show, Golden Globe Awards and their similar fashion tastes. In fact, PeeCee was also trolled for her blink and miss glimpse in the Baywatch trailer and it was compared with Deepika’s hefty appearance in xXx trailer.

While Priyanka has time and again cleared that there is nothing such as rivalry between the two, now Deepika has also confirmed the same.

In an interview with USA Today, Deepika Padukone clarified that she and Priyanka are not in any cometition and said:

It’s not fair to make comparisons. Let me just say everyone has a different path and journey.

And not only Deepika, but PeeCee herself praised the actress for her achievements and wished the best for her. In an interview with ANI, Priyanka also said:

I always say Deepika is extremely talented and beautiful. I wish her the best for xXx: Return of Xander Cage. The trailers look amazing. I hope she gets the recognition that she is aiming for.

Actress Sonam Kapoor is also going the ‘Hollywood way’ following her contemporaries DP and Peecee, as the ‘Neerja’ star has signed with United Talent Agency (UTA), one of America’s topmost talent agencies.  

Now that we know both the actresses share a good repo and there’s enough room in Hollywood for the two ladies to thrive and make India proud at a global platform, let’s just stop making such comparisons.

Dhol, ‘tutari’ and ’tilak’ made up for a rousing reception for Hollywood star Vin Diesel, who is here to promote his forthcoming release “xXx: Return of the Xander Cage”.

The American actor was accompanied by co-star and Indian actress Deepika Padukone and Director DJ Caruso.

They arrived to the typical desi fanfare of women dressed in red saris and yellow turbans. Diesel looked excited as he waved out to the media and to the crowd there with much gusto.

Dressed in white jeans, a black t-shirt and a pair of shades, he walked out of the airport here hand-in-hand with Deepika, who sported an all-black look complete with black stilettos.

They flashed their smiles and looked around at the mania which made up for the grand reception they received here with the ‘band, baaja’.

A traditional ‘Tilak’ lent a further desi touch to the welcome ceremony after which the three celebrities happily posed for the shutterbugs. They kept waving and showing the thumbs up sign as the cameras went clickety click.

Diesel’s two-day India trip is packed with fan meets, music and drama. He is promoting “xXx: Return of Xander Cage”, which is releasing in India on Friday — before anywhere else in the world.

He has a packed itinerary full of fan interactions, a glitzy red carpet gala and a star-studded premiere.

According to sources, plans are in place to give Diesel a “splendid taste of India” — and the start has been in tune with that.

The actors, along with other members of the film’s cast and crew, have been on an extensive worldwide promotional spree to promote the film. They visited London and Mexico before coming to India.

The movie is a new instalment in the “xXX” series after the 2002 film “xXx” and the 2005 entertainer “xXx: State of the Union”. It also stars Ruby Rose, Samuel L Jackson, Donnie Yen and Tony Jaa.

Deepika Padukone’s military green look at the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) 2016 has been tagged as a ‘Bollywood blunder’ by international publications.

Dailymail.co.uk, which had referred to Deepika as the “female companion” of tennis star Novak Djokovic earlier this year, featured the Hindi film star among the ‘Worst Dressed Celebs’ of MTV EMAs, and tagged her as a ‘Bollywood Blunder’.

Posting an image of the actress, the publication described the look: “Indian actress Deepika Padukone may be stunning but her swamp green bralet and skirt combo did nothing for her sensational figure.”

Another publication, mirror.co.uk, stated: “Indian film actress Deepika Padukone posed on the red carpet in what looked like a pair of giant dark green curtains as a skirt, a black sparkling bralet and huge chandelier earrings.”

Deepika is among the top young stars of Hindi cinema, having proved her mettle on the silver screen with myriad roles in films like “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”, “Chennai Express”, “Cocktail”, “Bajirao Mastani” and “Piku”.

She will be making her Hollywood debut with “xXx: Return of Xander Cage” next year alongside Vin Diesel, and was one of the presenters at the event along with her co-star Nina Dobrev. The ceremony took place here on Sunday, and was aired in India on Vh1.

At the event, Deepika’s look seemed to be in sync with her fierceful and strong character of “xXx: Return of Xander Cage”. She wore a Monisha Jaising ensemble – a skirt with a black, sequin bralette.

Jaising posted Deepika’s image on Instagram and captioned it: “Military green is a functional and strong colour. It has a tough, almost androgynous appeal for all of those women warriors out there! I’m thrilled to collaboratively envision with Shaleena Nathani, and create this very special piece for Deepika Padukone for the EMAs.”

There’s a strong buzz in India about Deepika’s Hollywood foray. The trailer of the film was released on Facebook Live and reached 100 million views across multiple platforms in two days.

On Sunday, the film’s Facebook engagement started with exclusive teasers being launched via the cast members’ own handles to their global fan bases. On Monday, exclusive character posters were launched to heighten anticipation leading into a live digital online event.

Directed by DJ Caruso, “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage” is a sequel to the 2002 film “xXx” and 2005 film “xXx: State of the Union”. The film also stars Ruby Rose, Samuel L Jackson, Donnie Yen and Tony Jaa.

A Paramount Pictures movie, it will be exclusively distributed in India by Viacom18 Motion Pictures on January 20, 2017.

Actress Deepika Padukone, who is gearing up for her Hollywood debut with “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage” opposite Hollywood actor Vin Diesel, represented India at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2016.

Deepika, along with her “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage” co-star Nina Dobrev, was one the presenters at the award ceremony, which took place here on Sunday. The award ceremony was aired in India on Vh1.

She gave away the Best Video Award trophy to singer Abél Makkonen Tesfaye, better known by his stage name The Weeknd.

Earlier this year, Indian actress Priyanka Chopra chose a scarlet number for the red carpet of the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards, and for the EMAs, Deepika picked a dress in hues of green.

She wore a Monisha Jaising ensemble — an military green skirt with a black, sequin bralette. She completed the look with long dangling earrings, and a neat ponytail.

Her ensemble signified a message, the designer said.

Actress Deepika Padukone, who is gearing up for the release of her debut international film “XxX: The Return Of Xander Cage”, has described her character as reckless, fearless and relentless. Deepika on Wednesday night took to Instagram to share over a 15-second-long video, which showed her character being described as: “Reckless, fearless, relentless…’XxX: The Return Of Xander Cage.”

The “Bajirao Mastani” star captioned the clip: “Serena ‘XxX: The Return Of Xander Cage’.”

Depression could be a very long battle. It is an inner conflict, something that is difficult to describe in words. A sinking, dark feeling just takes the happiness out of you. Going through something like this is taxing on any individual.

But, it all requires will power and fighting spirit to come through it. Deepika Padukone, one of the elite actresses in Bollywood, went through all of this and but came out stronger.

“Two years ago I struggled with depression. I was sinking,” Deepika Padukone revealed. “I almost gave up. But it was the athlete in me that gave me the strength to fight and never ever give up!”

Deepika, who is currently looking forward for her debut Hollywood venture xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, revealed what helped her in coming out of depression, and what his father Prakash Padukone advised her.

“Every girl and every boy and every woman and every man, play a sport,” Deepika said. “Because it changed my life and it will change yours too. Sport has taught me how to survive. It has taught me how to fight! It has made me unstoppable.”

“When I was growing up my father said to me, “To be the best, always remember the three D’s – Discipline, Dedication and Determination. Follow your heart. Do what you are passionate about.”

In a latest interview with Vogue India, Kareena Kapoor opened up on her career ambitions and being a ‘working women’ rather than venturing into the Hollywood like other fellow Bollywood actors.

When Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone are making a name in the Hollywood, by working alongside superstars like Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson, Kareena harbors no such hopes.

Kareena in the interview said that unlike Priyanka, she has a different set of priorities, and it is impossible for her to leave her family and move to Los Angeles for pursuing a Hollywood career.

“My responsibilities are a lot more different than hers (Priyanka Chopra),” Kareena said. “I have a husband. I would like to start a family. I can’t give up everything and move to LA. That’s not me.”

Both Priyanka and Deepika are stamping their marks in Hollywood. The former is starring alongside Dwayne Johnson in Baywatch, while the latter is making her Hollywood debut in Vin Diesel-starring ‘xXx: The Return of Xander Cage’.

“The kind of work that these girls have put in, you need to have that kind of dedication of wanting to achieve so much and do it so wonderfully,” Kareena said. “Also, maybe I’m lazy.”

This is not the first time both Priyanka and Deepika have come under the radar of fellow Bollywood actors. Recently, at the IIFA Awards, superstar Salman Khan had mocked the duo saying that “they don’t have anything to do with Indian cinema now.”

“It was amazing and I think like I have always said, I think it is the experiences that make movies special and he (Diesel) was a huge part of making the experience very special for me,” Deepika said.

Deepika has recently wrapped-up xXx’s shooting, and the ‘Om Shanti Om’ actress was all praise for her co-star and producer Diesel, who, according to her, made everything smooth in the foreign land. She also called him one of the most generous human being.

“It can be very unnerving when you move into foreign land and work with new people in new environment, but Diesel was there with me on every step,” Deepika said.

“He made sure that I was comfortable and making sure everything went up smoothly not just for me but for the entire team and he is one of the most generous human beings I have ever met.”

When there is Salman Khan, there is sarcasm. The same happened again during one of the press briefing at the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) in Madrid, when Salman gaged Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone.

The press conference was also the trailer launch of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Mirzya. Salman had actually missed the trailer, so he asked for a replay. To watch the trailer he left the podium, and asked everyone including Shahid Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan and others to sit with him.

Everyone except Deepika and Priyanka left the stage. The two actresses were busy have a conversation on the stage. And the Dabang star took no time in making fun of them big time.

“These two ladies have now gone abroad, doing Hollywood movies,” Salman joked. “They don’t have anything to do with Indian cinema now.”

Both Priyanka and Deepika are making quite a buzz in Hollywood. While Priyanka’s TV series Quantico is making waves and she has also recently wrapped up shooting of Baywatch with Dwayne Johnson.

Deepika, meanwhile, is set for her international debut with Vin Diesel’s XXX: The Return of Xander Cage. She hoped that more actors from Bollywood will be able to plunge into Hollywood for mainstream roles, instead of small roles, which were also offered to her.

“I have been offered roles in the past itself but I don’t think I was ready and I don’t think I was excited enough,” Deepika said. “As an actor I don’t think I was ready for the challenge before.”

“You have to look everything that you get as an opportunity,” she added. “There is no role that’s too small or big. It is all about what you make of the opportunity.”
